গোলাঘাট জিলাৰ Institute of Handicraft Development য়ে 2017 চনত গামোচাই GI tag পাব লাগে বুলি প্ৰথম দৰ্খাস্ত কৰিছিল।সেই মৰ্মে এদিন গামোচাই Department of Industry promotion and Internal trade ,Ministry of commerce and Industryৰ পৰা GI tag লাভ কৰি অসমলৈ গৌৰৱৰ বতৰা কঢ়িয়াই আনিছিল।
Geographical Indications of Goods(Registration and Protection)Act,1999 ৰ লক্ষ্য হৈছে-GI tag পোৱা ভাৰতৰ সম্পদবোৰক(Goods) Protection দিয়া ।এই Good সমুহৰ Patent,Designআৰু Trad Mark সংৰক্ষণত এই আইনে Controller হিচাপে কাম কৰে।
Any person who falsely applies or falsifies any geographical Indication, tampers the origin of a good , make or have in possession of dye, blocks, machines to use in falsification of GI may be punished shall not be less than six months but which may be extend to three years and with fine which shall not be less than fifty thousand rupees but which may extends to two lakhs rupees.
