PM Modi’s fabricated strongman image has become India’s biggest weakness: Rahul Gandhi New Delhi Reiterating that China has still occupied India’s territory, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he has fabricated a fake strongman image to come to power which has now become India’s biggest weakness as he has to protect the idea of ‘Chhapan Inch’. Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader posted a video message and wrote, “PM fabricated a fake strongman image to come to power. It was his biggest strength. It is now India’s biggest weakness.”In the video message, speaking on “China’s Strategic Game Plan” the Congress leader said: “What is China’s strategic and tactical game plan? It is simply not a border issue. The worry I have is that the Chinese are sitting in our territory today. Chinese don’t do anything without thinking about it strategically.”“In their mind, they have mapped out the world and they are trying to shape the world. That’s the scale of what they are doing. That’s what Gwadar is, that is what belt and road is. It is a restructuring of the planet. So when you are thinking about the Chinese you have to understand that that is the level at which they are thinking,” he added. Now at the tactical level, they’re trying to improve their position. Whether it is Galwan, whether it’s Demchok or whether it is Pangong Lake. The idea is to position themselves, he said. “They are disturbed by our highway they want to make our highway redundant and if they are thinking larger scale, they want to do something with Pakistan in Kashmir. So it is not simply a border issue. It is a border issue designed to put pressure on the Prime Minister of India,” the Congress leader said.“And they are thinking of putting pressure in a very particular way. And what they are doing, is that they are attacking his image. They understand that it in order for Mr Narendra Modi to be an effective politician; in order for Mr Narendra Modi to survive as a politician, he has to protect the idea of--Chhapan Inch. And this the real idea the Chinese are attacking. They are basically telling Mr Narendra Modi that if you do not do what we say, we will destroy the idea of Mr Narendra Modi as a strong leader,” he added.Gandhi continued saying, now the question is, how will PM Narendra Modi react. Will he take them on? Will he take on the challenge and say absolutely not, I’m the Prime Minister of India. I do not care about my image I’m going to take you on. Or will he succumb to them?“The worry I have so far is that the Prime Minister has succumbed. The worry I have is, the Chinese are sitting in our territory today and the Prime Minister has said publicly they are not, which to me tells me that is worried about his image and defending his image,” said Gandhi.“And if he allows the Chinese to understand that they can manipulate him because of his image, the Indian Prime Minister will no longer be worth anything for India,” he added. == US Navy's USS Nimitz nuclear-powered aircraft carrier all set for Passex with Indian Navy New Delhi USS Nimitz (CVN 68), US Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and world's largest warship armed with F/A-18F Super Hornets as well as F/A-18E Super Hornets, will exercise with the Indian Navy near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today (Monday, July 20, 2020). The US-India Passex (passing exercise) involving the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group off the Andaman and Nicobar coast in Malacca Strait will send out a strong message to China which has been trying to aggressively expand its borders by illegally encroaching on land and sea belonging to its neighbours. The India-US Passex in Malacca Strait comes just a few weeks after the USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) strike groups carried out wargames in the Philippine Sea. The show of strength by the US Navy involving two of its most lethal carrier strike groups near the maritime boundary of China was a clear signal to the communist nation to not rile its neighbours.USS Nimitz and Indian Navy's Passex exercise in Malacca Strait, the narrow stretch between Malaysia and Indonesia and one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, will strengthen the bond between the two nations. Malacca Strait is a crucial global sea lane through which considerable global oil flows to the rest of Asia including China.USS Nimitz is named after US World War II Pacific fleet commander Chester W Nimitz and the country's third fleet admiral. Built by Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding Company, Newport News, Virginia, USS Nimitz was commissioned on May 3, 1975.Powered by two nuclear reactors, four steam turbines and four shafts, the ship generates 194 megawatts of power. USS Nimitz is 332.85 metres long with its beam 40.84 metres high and the flight deck 76.8 metres wide. The warship displaces 1,00,020 tonnes and has a maximum speed of 31.5 knots (58.3 kilometres per hour). Due to its nuclear reactors, the warship can technically have unlimited endurance. The warship has a crew of over 6000 including Navy personnel, the air wing and marines with almost 90 aircraft including fighters. Its armament includes Sea Sparrow and RIM-116 Rolling Airframe missiles along with two PHALANX CIWS (Close-In Weapons System) Gatling guns, four MK 38 25mm autocannon turrets and 10 0.50 calibre turret emplacementsIts air wing includes Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornets, F/A-18E Super Hornets, McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornets, Boeing EA-18G Growlers, Northrop Grumman E-2C Hawkeyes, Sikorsky MH-60S Seahawks, MH-60R Seahawks and Grumman C-2 Greyhound aircraft Former chief priest of Tirumala Sri Venkateshwara Swami Temple, Srinivasa Murthy Deekshitulu, dies due to COVID-19 Tirupati One of the former chief priests of Tirumala Sri Venkateshwara Swami Temple, Peddinti Srinivasamurthy Deekshitulu, died on Monday (July 20) while undergoing treatment for coronavirus COVID-19 at Tirupati SVIMS hospital.
